Standby Battery Operational Check
NOTE:
This test gives the procedures to do an emergency power check of the L-3 Communications
Electronic Standby ESI-1000 Indicator (SFD) or the Electronic Flight Display (EFD-750).
A.
Emergency Power Check.
(1)
Disengage the STBY BATT CHARGE circuit breaker found on the left circuit breaker panel in
the cockpit.
(2)
At the ELECTRICAL POWER panel, put the STBY FLT DISPLAY switch to the TEST position
for 5 seconds and make sure that:
(a)
The 'test' light (green) next to the STBY FLT DISPLAY switch stays on during test.

If the light does not come on, or if it goes off before the test is complete, the battery
must be charged.
(3)
Put the STBY FLT DISPLAY switch to the ON position.
(a)
The BATT PWR ON light (green) found on the ELECTRICAL POWER switch panel, comes
on.
(4)
Put the STBY FLT DISPLAY switch to the OFF position.
(5)
Engage the STBY BATT CHARGE circuit breaker.
(6)
Put the STBY FLT DISPLAY switch to the OFF position.
(7)
Remove external electrical power from the airplane.
