(42) Continue the fluid purge until the panel is correctly purged in accordance with Figure 3 and
Table 2.
NOTE: To get an even flow over the panel it may be necessary to lightly run a dry cloth or
paper towel over the leading edge and/or the dry spots of the panel during purging.
(43) Stop the fluid supply.
(44) Wait until the fluid pressure is released.
(45) Disconnect the purge tank lines.
(46) Connect the purge tank line to the section of the wing strut TKS panel that supplies fluid by
the line that was attached to port 7.
NOTE: The strut panel has two membranes (upper and lower). Each membrane has a fluid
supply tube. You can install a tee fitting and connect the test cart supply tube to
each membrane.
(47) Apply pressure of 10 psi, do a check for leaks in the line, and repair all leaks.
(48) Apply pressure of 20 psi to slowly start the fluid flow through the panel.
(49) Wait until the fluid starts to come out all the holes at the same rate along the full length of the
panel and increase the pressure to 75 psi.
(50) Continue the fluid purge until the panel is correctly purged in accordance with Figure 3 and
Table 2.
NOTE: To get an even flow over the panel it may be necessary to lightly run a dry cloth or
paper towel over the leading edge and/or the dry spots of the panel during purging.
(51) Stop the fluid supply.
(52) Wait until the fluid pressure is released.
(53) Disconnect the purge tank lines.
(54) Install new sealing rings (one S2800-942 Sealing Ring at port 6 and one S2800-943 Sealing
Ring at port 7) and connect the wing strut TKS supply lines to ports 6 and 7 on the wing
proportioning unit.
(55) Disconnect the two right inboard wing porous panel supply lines from ports 1 and 5 of the
wing proportioning unit.
NOTE: The inboard and outboard wing panels have two supply tubes. It is necessary to
disconnect the second tube and put a cap or plug in the tube end to keep sufficient
pressure in the panel.
NOTE: If your airplane is equipped with the weather radar system, the airplane has only one
access panel to get to the right wing proportioning unit. You can disconnect the panel
feed lines at the body of the proportioning valve and then safety them with safety wire
when you connect them again, or you can remove the radar to get access.
(56) Connect the test cart supply tube to the inboard panel as near to the panel as you can.
(57) Apply pressure of 10 psi, do a check for leaks in the line, and repair all leaks.
(58) Apply pressure of 20 psi to slowly start the fluid flow through the panel.
(59) Wait until the fluid starts to come out all the holes at the same rate along the full length of the
panel and increase the pressure to 65 psi.
(60) Continue the fluid purge until the panel is correctly purged in accordance with Figure 3 and
Table 2.
NOTE: To get an even flow over the panel it may be necessary to lightly run a dry cloth or
paper towel over the leading edge and/or the dry spots of the panel during purging.
