On the pump as well as on the cutting head (acc. to EN 50340) there are fastening
points (bolts with wing nuts) for the cable providing equipotential bonding.
Attention
Do not ground the cutting head in Germany.
(see BGI 845 (ZH 1/437))
In some European countries the cutting head must be grounded due to possibly cutting
one phase cables causing a one phase short circuit.

Check the battery capacity of both batteries by briefly actuating the trigger (Pos.-Nr. 4).
If the LED indicates a low battery as described in chapter 4.3 the batteries must be
charged prior to starting the working cycle.

Plug the connecting devices (Pos.-No. 3) between pump and hose properly until they
engage safely and can not be disengaged by pulling.

Position the cutting head (Pos.-No. 11) to the cable in an angle of 90°. The cutting head
must be positioned in a way that the cable is situated in the open cutting head
respectively between the blades (Pos.-No. 12).
Attention
Stranded cables with a nominal voltage of up to 60kV all strands of the
conductor must be cut at the same time.
Attention
Prior operation the oil level must be checked and if necessary adjusted by
an authorized service center.

Do not operated the unit during rain.

Now the cutting cycle can be
started by actuating the trigger (see picture 2 Pos. B). The
cutting cycle is terminated when the max. operating pressure is reached and the relief
valve responded. The pressure pick up can be monitored with the pressure gauge over
the entire cutting cycle.
Attention
The cutting cycle must be fully completed that means until a possible 2- to
3-pole short circuit occurs.

By actuating the release button (Pos.-No. 6) the blades (Pos.-No. 12) will be returned
into the starting position. The cable is completely cut now.

The operator of the safety cutting unit has to make sure e.g. by asking the net provider,
whether the right cable was cut. This is of special importance with deleted nets.
Attention
Do not approach the cutting head before the net control office, respectively
net provider, gives the OK.
In case of cutting into a live cable with this safety cutting unit the cut can be continued
and completed with this unit. In most cases the unit stays functioning.
Attention
In this case the operator must always contact the net provider.
