Supervisors,
Physics is an exciting and expansive science
that is not hard to understand, especially when
you use fun models to demonstrate physics
principles in action. It can be a lot of fun to
figure out the astonishing physical phenomena
that we encounter every day and to put this
understanding to use — in a gumball machine,
no less!
This experiment kit and the working
models you can build with it introduce your
child to physics concepts including forces,
interactions, motion, and mechanical
advantage. With its hands-on models, your
child will gain basic insights into the world of
physics principles — which will help him or her
to understand and engage more deeply in the
lessons taught in school.
The gumball machine is assembled step by
step using reconfigurable parts. It will require a
little practice and patience to put it together
and to get the gumball to go exactly where you
want it to go. Your child will be particularly
happy to have your help with the parts that he
or she finds more difficult.
