operating settings. Unless your spa is shut down for an extended period the thermostat should always
be set for the desired water temperature.

Table1: Units Without Timeclock Option

Mode Switch

Comment

Position 1

Maintains desired water temperature continuously, cycles pump more frequently

Position 2

Continuous filtering can improve water condition, no pump cycling, maintains desired
water temperature continuously

Table 2: Units with Timeclock Option

Mode Switch

Timeclock

Comment

Position 1

Programmed Operating
Times

Heater only activates during desired operating times to
reach temperature setpoint, can minimize pump cycling
and prevent noise from equipment at night.

Position 1

Always on

Continuous filtering can improve water condition, no pump
cycling, maintains desired water temperature continuously

Position 2

Always Off

Maintains desired water temperature continuously, cycles
pump more frequently and at various times during the day
and night

Position 2

Programmed Operating
Times

Maintains desired water temperature continuously but
cycles equipment at various times during the day and
night, additional filtering during programmed operating
times can improve water condition

SPA WATER CHEMISTRY

Chemical imbalance can cause serious damage to your heater and other equipment. Maintain your
water chemistry according to the chart below. If the mineral content and dissolved solids in the water
become too high, scale forms inside the heater, reducing efficiency and damaging the heater. If the
pH drops below 7.4, the heater can be damaged by corrosion. Also free chlorine levels over 3.0 ppm
can cause corrosion. Damage resulting from chemical imbalance is not covered by the warranty.

Table 7. Recommended Chemical Concentration Levels

Test

Recommended Level

Free Chlorine or

1.5 to 3.0 ppm

Bromine

2.0 to 4.0 ppm

pH

7.3 to 7.8

Total Alkalinity (TA)

80 to 120 ppm (parts per million)

Calcium Harness (CH)

200 to 400 ppm (part per million)

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)

Less than 2000 ppm (parts per million)

Copper

0 ppm (parts per million)

Water Temperature (deg F)

89 degrees F to 104 degrees F

Salt

6000 ppm maximum

FILTER CLEANING

CAUTION: Do not allow your Spa’s filter to become clogged. A badly clogged filter can cause
excessive wear on the equipment in your spa pack or other equipment in your spa. Damage caused
by a clogged filter is not covered by the warranty.
