GENERAL INFORMATION
Please read these operating instructions carefully ---
they contain important safety information relevant
during installation, operation and maintenance. Keep
the operating instructions for use at a later date. The
device is designed to provide the following functions:
extraction (releasing air into external surroundings ---
see Fig. 1B), filtration (internal air circulation --- see Fig.
1A) and an external motor (Fig. 1C).
SAFETY INFORMATION
1.
Caution is advised if the hood is in operation at the
same time as a heat source or flame that is dependent
on air in the surrounding area or being supplied with
non-electrical energy, because the hood removes the air
that the flame or heat source needs for combustion
from the surrounding area. The underpressure in the
room must not exceed 4 Pa (4x10-5 bar). For maximum
safety, ensure the room is adequately ventilated. The
relevant standards for extraction to external
environments apply and must be observed.
Before connecting the model to the electrical grid:
- Check the information label (on the inside of the
device) to ensure that the voltage and strength are
compatible with the electrical grid and that the sockets
are suitable. If you are not sure, consult a qualified
electrician.
- If the power cable is damaged, replace it with a cable
or a special set provided by the manufacturer or an
authorised service centre.
- Connect the power supply unit using a plug with a 3A
fuse, or to the two-phase wires, protected by a 3A fuse.
2.
Caution
Electrical equipment may pose a danger in some
situations.
A) Do not check the condition of the filters while the
hood is in operation.
B) Do not touch light bulbs or adjacent areas while, or
immediately after, using the lighting system for longer
periods.
C) Do not prepare food in front of a naked flame below
the hood.
D) Avoid naked flames, as these can damage the filters
and pose a fire hazard.
E)
While deep fat frying, keep an eye on the food at all
times in case the oil ignites.
F)
Always pull the plug out of the socket before carrying
out maintenance.
G)
The device should not be used by children or
individuals who lack the metal or physical capacity to
use it correctly unsupervised.
H)
Children should be supervised at all times to ensure
that they do not play with the device.
I)
When the hood is used at the same time as devices
that consume gas or other fuels, the room must have
enough ventilation.
L) Failure to carry out cleaning as instructed may
increase the risk of fire.

Directive 2002/96/EC regarding the disposal of
