Data is not displayed
during collection.
The data cable between the
spectrometer and computer is
not properly connected.
The spectrometer is out of
alignment.
The laser is not functioning.
The spectrometer is overheated.
(You can check whether the
temperature of the electronics
board is within the acceptable
range by clicking the
electronics indicator on the
Diagnostics tab of the
Experiment Setup dialog box.)
Turn the spectrometer power off and
check the data cable connections.
Align the spectrometer using the
Align button on the Diagnostic tab
of the Experiment Setup dialog box.
Click the laser indicator on the
Diagnostic tab of the Experiment
Setup dialog box to check the laser
operation. Call Thermo Electron to
order a replacement laser if

to find part number and ordering and
installation instructions.
Make sure the cooling vents on the
back of the spectrometer are not
blocked. Make sure the ambient
temperature is between 16° and
27°C (60° and 80°F).
