The indicators for the internal Contact Alert System on the front
panel becomes active. Neither should be glowing until the
sample is in place and contact occurs.

6. For systems with optional motorized stages, initialize the
stage.

7. Place the sensor plate onto the stage.
The raised surface on the bottom of the sensor plate fits into the
recess on the stage.
