Some samples may be difficult to focus on automatically. To
improve the reliability of autofocus without affecting infrared
performance, you can:
•
Use the Z-position tool for very fine focusing.
•
Increase the contrast (use the aperture iris controls).
•
Decrease the field of view and create an artificial sharp
contrast between the iris and the sample area (use the field
iris controls).
Note
The autofocus feature moves the stage a maximum of 1 mm up or
down to find the best image contrast. You must be within 1 mm of
focus for autofocus to succeed.
7. Center the sample area of interest in the field of view and
adjust the aperture.
8. Start the experiment.
