Or, if this rate is lower than the one you calculated, do
the following:

Too Low—Open the
reject
valve until the
membrane pressure gauge is reading 180
psig. Then close the
recycle
valve to restore
membrane pressure to 200 psig.
M. Note the “Reject” flow rate again and adjust
until the correct “Reject” flow is achieved.
Enter this flow rate in the Operating Record
Log Sheet under “Initial Start-
Up.”
N. Allow the ULTROpure product water to contin-
ue to drain for one hour. This will purge the
membrane of the bactericide used to protect
the membrane during manufacture and stor-
age.
O. You are now ready to collect and use the
product water from your ULTROpure. Turn
unit off.
P. If you are using a Barnstead storage reservoir
or a reservoir with a level sensor, connect the
level sensor cable to the ULTROpure “Storage
Interlock.”

If you are using a Barnstead 100 Liter Storage
Reservoir or another manufacturers unit, refer
to Figure C for tubing adapter connections.
Then, connect a sufficient length of tubing
from the ULTROpure “Product” port to the
storage reservoir inlet connection (refer to
individual ownerʼs manual for instructions).
R. Close the front door.
