Caution
The cell electrodes are etched to
improve wetting characteristics. Do not
mechanically abrade or damage this
surface. Do not immerse the entire cell
assembly in cleaning solution, only the
electrode portion.
Note
Be sure that you have reconnected the
tubing connections at the top and bot-
tom end caps after the membrane
housing has drained. Also be sure that
the “Product” tubing is disconnected
and routed to drain.

Shutdown
If the ULTROpure is to be shut down for more than 4 days,
the membrane must be protected with a disinfectant. We
recommend that the membrane be cleaned as detailed in
“Membrane Cleaning” of the Maintenance section of this
manual prior to shutdown. After the cleaning and rinsing
procedure is completed, allow the water within the mem-
brane housing to drain.
A. Disconnect power from any equipment being
serviced by the ULTROpure.
B. Disconnect the lines from equipment being ser-
viced by the ULTROpure and run these lines to
drain.
C. Remove the prefilter housing and discard the
used filter.
D. Install a new filter into the housing.
E. Prepare a 1/2 to 1% sodium bisulfite solution.
One liter will be sufficient.
