Peak Height Ratio Profile Settings
The Peak Height Ratio profile shows the ratio of the corrected heights of two specified peaks
for each sample point in the chemical image. The colors in the chemical image represent the
relative ratioed heights of the specified peaks. A higher intensity value (closer to the top of the
profile intensity scale) indicates a larger peak height ratio.

Profile Type
Description
Intensity
threshold
Specify a peak area ratio value below which will be reported as 0 (to
eliminate peaks below a certain size). Prevents dividing a small peak (or
noise spike) by an even smaller peak (or noise spike), which generates a
high response even when the peak of interest is not present in the spectra.
Numerator/
Denominator
To define the areas of the numerator and denominator peaks, select
Numerator
(or
Denominator
) and then specify the following:

Area start/end
. Defines the location of the numerator or
denominator peak. To specify the peak location, select the
Spectrum
tool
,
then click a point of interest in the chemical image. The
spectrum collected at that location is displayed in the spectral pane.
Enter X-axis start and end locations in their respective boxes or drag
the left and right facing triangle tools in the spectral pane to mark
the peak start and end.

Baseline start/end
. Defines baseline values for the specified peak.
Enter X-axis locations in the
Baseline start
and
Baseline end
boxes
or drag the downward facing triangle tools in the spectral pane to
mark the baseline points.
Tip
To zoom the spectrum, use the mouse to draw a box around the
region, then click inside the box.
