Run Control Buttons
Stop Next
– When the
Stop Next
button is on, subsequent effects runs will stop
at the next keyframe encountered. With this feature on, you can step key-
frame by keyframe through an effect by pressing the
Run
button repeatedly.
Rev
– When the
Rev
button is on, subsequent effect runs will proceed back-
ward, from the end of the effect to the front. This button does not affect
editing operations. For example a
Go To Next
action does not reverse direc-
tion when the
Rev
button is on.
Rew
– Pressing
Rew
will abort any run in progress and rewinds the effect to
its beginning (if
Rev
is off) or to its end (if
Rev
is on).
Run
– Initiates the running of an effect from the current cursor location.
Run
also acts as a toggle to stop a running effect and then start it again from its
stopped location. If the cursor is at the end of an effect when
Run
is pressed,
the effect will automatically rewind and then run.
Run Lever Arm Controls and Indicators
Lever Enable
– Activates and deactivates the Run Lever Arm. The button illu-
minates when the lever arm is active. When inactive, accidental move-
ments of the lever arm will not affect the currently loaded effect.
Progress Bar
– LEDs illuminate to report the relative progress of the effect.
The position of the illuminated LEDs (either at the top or bottom of the
progress bar) indicates which direction of lever arm movement will
advance the effect.
Lever Arm
– When activated, moving the Run Lever Arm moves the time
cursor through the currently loaded effect. Moving the lever arm back and
forth between the limits makes the effect run forwards and backwards. If
the time cursor is located at the end of the effect and the lever arm is at a
limit, moving the lever arm rewinds the effect to its start before running it.
Pressing the
Run
button runs the effect from its current time cursor location.
If the effect is partially run and then stopped, the Run Lever Arm’s physical
position will not represent the actual location of the time cursor in the
effect. Subsequent movement of the lever arm in this situation will always
smoothly move the effect from its current location. In this situation, moving
the lever arm back and forth will expand its range of influence on the effect,
preventing any jumps in effect playback and assuring sufficient range for
precise manual playback control.
