Eng Setups Menus
Note
If this field is changed, the Kalypso Menu application must be exited and
relaunched or the Menu panel must reset before the Menu will use this dif-
ferent IP address to communicate with a Video Processor frame.
The
Single Suite
and
Multi Suite
buttons toggle between Single and Multi Suite
system operation. The Video Processor frame will also need to be reset to
change the operating mode.
CAUTION
Switching between Single and Multi Suite mode should be done with care.
This change affects the basic operation of the Kalypso system. Once in Multi
Suite mode, if the second suite is not needed it is better to simply leave that
suite unused rather than switch back to Single Suite mode. There are also
security advantages to running in Multi Suite mode even if only one suite is
in use.
Still Store Pane
The Still Store pane has datapads for naming the Still Store and entering the
IP address the Menu panel will use to communicate with the Still Store.
Note
If this field is changed, the Kalypso Menu application must be reloaded or the
Menu panel reset before the Menu panel will use this different IP address to
communicate with a Kalypso Still Store.
Suite Panes
The Suite 1 and Suite 2 panes have datapads that permit the naming of each
suite. The name entered here appears in the Acquire menu to identify the
currently accessed suite. Naming each suite to identify its room or location
(Edit, Studio 1, News, etc.) is recommended.
Kalypso Nodes Pane
The Kalypso Nodes pane on the right has fields for all the control points of
that Kalypso system.
IP Address
– Data pads are available for entering the IP address of each node
the Video Processor frame will allow to control system resources. Touching
this data pad displays a popup keypad permitting data entry. Address
changes are sent to the frame as they are entered. Existing connections are
retained, but the new IP addresses will be used when the node or the frame
is reset.
Node Name
– Data pads are also available for naming each node. Touching
this data pad displays a popup keypad permitting data entry. Node names
are optional, and intended to help users identify the nodes in the facility.
Suite & Control Surface
– This column has data pads that report where each
node has been assigned. Touching a data pad brings up a menu permitting
suite and control surface selection.
