Key Split
Each key source button normally controls crosspoints on two buses (key
cut, key fill) at the same time. The
Key Split
source select modifier button is
used to select a different key cut signal to use with the currently selected
key fill signal. When
Key Split
is held down, the key bus lights the currently
selected key cut source button. Selecting a different source changes only
key cut bus source, and leaves the key fill bus source unchanged. Key split
sources are indicated in the M/E status display (see
To cancel a key split, either look at the M/E status display to identify the
key cut source or note the key fill source when
Key Split
is not held down,
then hold down
Key Split
and select that same source for use as the key cut.
Near Side, Far Side
The
Near Side
and
Far Side
buttons are used to select only the near (visible)
side, or the far (not visible) side of a digitally manipulated source. These
buttons are active if a Transform Engine or external DPM is associated with
the bus (aux buses or buses with Effects Send active). When a
Near Side
or
Far Side
button is not held down, a change in source selection is applied to
both the near and far sides.
Inactive Buttons
The
Key Add
and
Key Drop
buttons on the main panel are inactive in Kalypso
Release 11.0.
