Resource Action Panes
The middle panes control the actual acquisition and release of resources.
The upper middle pane is delegated with the Logical buttons in the left
pane to a specific logical component. The contents of this pane is context
sensitive depending on the type of resource delegated. Buttons that do not
apply to a particular component are either removed or grayed out.
When a scrolling component has been delegated, the following buttons
may appear in the upper Resource Action pane:
The
Desired
button toggles the desired state of the currently delegated
Logical component on and off.
The
Acquire Any
button acquires the first available resource matching that
component type for the currently delegated component.
The
Acquire Specific
button permits selection of a particular physical compo-
nent. When pressed this button turns gold, the Physical Components pane
scrolls to the appropriate physical components, and the buttons for those
components are activated. Touching one of the active buttons assigns that
resource to the delegated logical component. The acquisition process can
be canceled by pressing the Acquire button while it is gold.
Note
A pop up message pane appears if a requested resource is not available for
acquisition.
The
Release
button frees the physical component from that suite, making it
available for acquisition by the other suite.
