Kalypso Reference Manual
Section 3 — Menus
The following soft knob controls are also available on all Timeline menus:
The
Go to KF
soft knob is used to scroll to or enter the number of the key-
frame to move the cursor to.
The
Jog Effect
soft knob is used to scroll the cursor through the time of
an effect.
The following additional edit controls are present in the Timeline – Edit
menu. Functions not also available on the Menu panel are described:
The
Modify All Abs
button applies the actual values of changed work
buffer values to all the keyframes in all delegated levels of the effect.
Only those parameters that have changed from the original values at
the current cursor location are involved (by pressing a button, turning
a knob, or entering a value with the keypad). This button applies abso-
lute values, not relative values as is done with the Modify All function
on the Main panel. For example, if a hue was changed 30 degrees to
make it red, different hues on other keyframes will be changed with
Modify All Abs
to red, not shifted 30 degrees. If the cursor is on the path, a
keyframe will also be added to the effect at that location.
The
Modify All Rel
button operates the same as the Mod All function on
the Main panel (see
Timeline Modify, Insert Button Group on page 123
).
The
Pause At KF
button is used to set and clear keyframe pauses at the
current edit cursor position. A running effect pauses when it encoun-
ters a keyframe pause on the timeline, and will resume running when
the
Run
button is pressed. On the Timeline-Edit menu, a keyframe with
a pause set displays a red dot above the keyframe line. Pauses reside on
individual level timelines, not the master timeline. The edit cursor must
be on a keyframe to set or clear a keyframe pause. The
Pause At KF
button
illuminates when the cursor is located on an existing keyframe pause.
Pressing the button when it is not illuminated sets a pause on that key-
frame. Pressing the button when lit clears the pause on that keyframe.
Only timelines delegated for editing are affected. If multiple enable
groups are delegated for editing, pauses will be added to or cleared
from all the timelines.
Note
In Release 11.0 Ind Run is inactive, and the default is off. When Ind Run is
off, the entire effect will halt when a keyframe pause is encountered on any
level. In a future release, it will be possible to turn Ind Run on and have
pauses occur on individual levels.
The
Edit Cursor
button selects the Edit cursor, same as the button on the
Main panel (see
Cursor Button Group on page 121
).
The
ClearWkBfr
button clears the work buffer, same as the button on the
Main panel (see
Clear Work Buffer Button on page 119
).
The
Rest WkBfr
button restores the work buffer, same as the button on the
Main panel (see
