Still Store Menus
When an item is loaded to either a
Program
or
Preset
button it is automati-
cally locked into the cache, which protects it from being overwritten by
other caching operations. When an item is unloaded from an output, either
by being replaced with another item or with the
Unload Output
button, the
item is automatically unlocked from the cache and becomes subject to
being overwritten (if it is not loaded on another output).
Preset Transfer to Program
The arrow transfer button between the delegation buttons swaps the
current Preset item with the Program output. item. Pressing the button
repeatedly swaps the items back and forth.
Still and Clip Selection
The left pane is used as a browser for selecting still or clip items for the del-
egated Still Store output. The scrolling list displays all the items saved in
the currently selected folder (see
plays cached items from different folders (these items are shaded). The
item associated with the currently delegated output is highlighted.
Changing output delegation scrolls the browser to show that output’s item.
Touching an item on the scrolling list loads it to the delegated Still Store
output, caching the item if necessary. The current item selection on a Still
Store output is keyframeable.
Icons indicate if the item is cached, is a still or a clip, is a video/key pair or
video only, and other information (see
of this information for the currently selected item is also displayed at the
upper left corner of the pane. Still images or animation clips created in one
video standard will not display correctly if loaded into a Kalypso system
operating in another standard. Still store items that do not match the
current operating mode display an invalid symbol.
The
Auto Load
button can be used to control the loading of items to outputs
when they are selected in the browser. This makes it possible to select a clip
or animation to delete without having to wait for it to first load to an
output. By default AutoLoad is enabled, so clips load automatically when
selected. Turning Auto Load off allows an item to be selected without
loading it to an output. Auto Load is automatically re-enabled each time
the user leaves the Still Store group of menus.
The
Delete
button initiates the delete process for the selected item in the
browser. When an item is deleted it is removed from the cache and its files
are also deleted from that folder on the disk. If the item was loaded to an
output, that output image will be blanked, even if on-air. Deleting a shaded
item that was cached from another folder removes it from the scrolling list
and cache, but does not delete the original file residing in the other folder.
Note
The Delete button will blank any image currently being used on that output,
even if it is on-air.
