Menu/Joystick Delegate Subpanel
One selection in each of the top two rows is typically required to specify a
specific point of use. For example, to delegate the menu to one of the 16
keyers, the operator specifies an M/E and a keyer (e.g., M/E 1, Key 2).
However, there are cases where the delegation is completely identified by
the top row alone. For example, Bkgd 1 does not require a keyer selection.
Multiple delegation selections in each row are allowed. The standard
mechanism to make multiple delegations is used in each group (hold at
least one button down in the group and make additional selections).
Buttons light to indicate all active delegations. When multiple delegations
exist in both groups, all indicated points of use are delegated. For example
if M/E 1 and M/E 2 are delegated along with Key 1 and Key 2, then M/E
1 Key 2, M/E 2 Keyer 2, M/E 2 Keyer 1 and M/E 2 Keyer 2 will all be con-
trolled if any menu changes are made. The menu displays the state of the
left most delegation (M/E 1 Keyer 1 in the above example) when multiple
delegations are active.
Additional menu delegation buttons on the left access functionality not
dependent on point of use delegations using the top two rows of delega-
tions buttons on the right. Only the

additional delegation button is
active.
Valid Menu Delegation Combinations
Not all combinations of delegations are valid. If a delegation selection is not
valid, that delegation button will dim tally. The menu will also display an
Invalid Delegation
message until a valid combination is entered.
shows which menu buttons work for specific delegations.
For example, pressing
Transform
while
M/E 1
and
Trans
are selected will not
delegate the menu until all necessary selections are valid. This table also
indicates which delegation buttons bright and dim tally for each delegation
combination. For example, pressing
Global
while
Keyer
is the current menu
category will dim tally the Global button as the current selection, indicating
it is not currently valid.
