Kalypso Reference Manual

Menu Organization
shows the menu for a Box, KeyWipe, or Complex wipe gener-
ator.
The five soft knobs for this menu adjust wipe point of use parameters.
The
Border
and
Soft
buttons turn the border and softness wipe point of use
functions on and off.
The
Dir:
button leads to a menu that selects the wipe direction. The current
state is indicated in the button. This is the combination of the normal-
reverse boolean and the N/R boolean. When N/R is active, the direction
will reverse at the end of a transition wipe (not valid for keyer preset pat-
terns, washes or masks). When N/R is active, this button will indicate
Dir:NR
. Otherwise it will indicate the state of the direction boolean:
Dir:N
or
Dir:R
.
The
Gen:
button leads to the generator selection menu. The selected gener-
ator is indicated in the button label. The generators available depend on the
point of use. For keyer points of use: KW (keyer wipe generator), Box
(keyer box generator), C1 and C2 (complex generators 1 and 2) and U1 and
U2 (utility buses 1 and 2) are valid. For transition wipes, C1, C2, U1, and U2
are valid.
When a box generator is selected, the
Soft
and
Size
knobs are redirected to
the generator parameter controls and adjust all edges equally. The Size
knob does not appear for transition points of use.
The
GenAdj
button leads to the wipe generator adjust menu. Different gen-
erators have different options, described below.
If the selected generator is a utility bus the menu layout is shown in
The Size knob label changes to
Clip
and the Soft knob label changes to
Gain
.
There is no generator adjustment menu for utility buses.
