Source Select Modifier Buttons
A group of source select modifier buttons are located below each M/E’s
Status display. These buttons affect the source selection buttons in that
M/E. Holding down a source select modifier button changes what source
will be selected when an M/E source button is pressed.
More than one modifier button can be active at the same time, by holding
down a button. For example, you select the shifted source on an alternate
bus by holding down the
Alt Buses
modifier button, pressing
Shift
, and then
making your source selection. The order of modifier button selection does
not matter (you can hold down
Shift
, then select
Alt Buses
). Modifiers remain
active when their button is released as long as at least one modifier button
remains held down.
The complete current status of an M/E, including the effects of any active
source select modifiers, is reported on that M/E’s Status display.
Alt Buses
The
Alt Buses
source select modifier button is used to delegate a button row
to its alternative bus. Each key and background source buttons on each
M/E can control an alternate bus (
Unshift, Shift, and Shift Preference
The
Unshift
and
Shift
source select modifier buttons are used to select addi-
tional mapped sources for a bus. If only one source is mapped to each
source select button, the
Shift
and
Unshift
buttons will not affect source selec-
tion.
Holding down an M/E’s
Unshift
button while making a source selection
always selects the unshifted source for the M/E., regardless of the shift
preference for that bus. Likewise, holding down the
Shift
button always
causes selection of the shifted source.
When the
Unshift
and
Shift
buttons are not held down, the sources specified
by that bus’s shift preference will be selected. Note, however, that the shift
preference of the M/E reentry buttons are fixed to unshifted. For reentry
sources, holding down the
Shift
button while selecting a reentry source
(M/E 1, 2, 3, PGM PST) selects the Pgm B output of that M/E.
