4-M/E Main Panel
Manual delegation of an individual keyer involves selecting one button in
each group. Two additional delegation buttons are also used for masking
(see
Inhibit and Force Mask Delegation Buttons on page 91
Manually changing the selection in one of these button groups does not
change the current selection in the other group. For example, to adjust a dif-
ferent keyer of the same M/E, you can just press the new keyer’s delega-
tion button and then make your changes. However, to adjust a different
keyer in a different M/E, you need to select the new keyer and also select
the new M/E before you make any changes.
The current delegation is indicated on the subpanel button tallys except
when the panel is delegated to multiple keyers across several M/Es via the
M/E Keyer delegation buttons. In this case, the delegation buttons will all
be unlit. See
M/E Keyer Delegation Buttons on page 83
The
Key 1-4
delegation buttons in the Keyers subpanel can also be used for
Hold to Preview (see below), momentary delegation (see
), and to set Key Priorities (see
Hold to Preview
When setting up a key, it is often desirable to see a key that is not on air or
part of the next transition. Holding down a Keyers/Masks subpanels
Key 1-4
delegation button will replace that M/E’s preview output with a
representation of that key over the current background. User preference
settings determine whether this feature is enabled for these buttons,
whether other on-air keys are shown, and how long the preview lasts. Note
that the Hold to Preview is not available for the

Key delegation
buttons in the Mattes or Transform subpanels. The
Show Key
button is also
available to view the actual key control signal. See
Keyers/Masks Subpanel Delegation Control Buttons
The
Auto Deleg
and
Last Deleg
buttons in the Keyers subpanel affects the
current delegation of the Keyers and Masks subpanels. (The Mattes sub-
panel has its own independent delegation control buttons for that sub-
panel).
•
The
Auto Deleg
button enables and disables automatic delegation as con-
figured in a user preference. When on, automatic delegation will occur
following the user preference rules. When off, no auto delegation
occurs for the Keyers and Masks subpanels.
•
The
Last Deleg
button recalls the previous delegation for the Keyers and
Masks subpanels.
