Preparing the recording

Load a tape and position it to the desired section using REW., FWD., STOP, and PLAY.

Select the programme to be recorded (Pr or SA) either using the PR+/- key or the number
keys, or else select the AV socket to which the unit is connected using the AV key.
For 2-digit channels, first press
0/--
(0, 1, 2 for PR 12).

Select standard play (SP) or long play (LP) using the SP/LP key.
LP doubles the recording capacity of the cassette (240 minutes in SP become 480 minutes, i.e.
8 hours in LP).
Simple recording

Press the REC key.
The video recorder switches on Record Pause.

Press the PLAY key.
The video recorder starts recording.
Recording with automatic stop (instant record)

Press the REC key twice.
The video recorder starts recording for a 30-minute period.

Press the REC key again to increase the recording by another 30-minute period: press once
for 30 minutes, press twice for 60 minutes, and so on.
Interrupt recording using the
PAUSE
key; resume it using
PLAY
or end it using
STOP.
"S.O.S. record" (Snap On-Screen) recording
You may start recording at any time the TV programme you are watching, provided that your
television set is fitted with the function NexTView Link (or similar) and that a tape is loaded in the
video recorder.

Press the REC key.
The video recorder turns on, automatically changes over to the same channel as the
television set and switches to Record Pause.
To record another programme than the one currently chosen on the television set, change the
programme of the video recorder using the remote control.

Trigger the recording using the PLAY or REC key as explained above.
Mark a scene with an index
The
INDEX MARK
key of the remote control allows you to mark a scene by setting an invisible
electronic index while recording or playing a tape.

Start playing or recording a tape (see above).

Press the INDEX MARK key to add an index.
To erase the indices, refer to page 16.
You can't mark or retrieve any index? Check whether the protection tab of the tape is not broken.
Should this be the case, cover the opening with a piece of thick adhesive tape.
