Switchable trigger
• The tool can be fitted with a switchable
trigger. This allows you to switch between
single sequential fire and bump fire.
Depending on the tool model, this can be done
either by:
· pushing the switch button back or forth.
· pushing the switch button outwards and
twisting it.
· pushing the black switch button stud inwards
and displacing the switch shaft.
Clearing a jammed fastener
• In the case of fastener jam, disconnect the air sup
-
ply before you perform any actions. Point the tool
away from yourself or anyone else.
• Release pusher to avoid pressure on the fastener
strip.
• Open the driver guide cover by releasing the latch.
• For some models; remove the screws in the nose
piece (D).
• Remove the jammed fastener with needle-nose
pliers or similar type of tool. Do not use your hand
to remove the fastener.
•
Secure the driver guide cover after you clear the jam.
•
For some models; reassemble the nose piece (D).
• If you failed to remove the jammed fastener by
above method contact your local TJEP dealer.
Maintenance instructions
General maintenance
•
The employer and the operator are responsible for
assuring that the tool is kept in safe working order.
Furthermore, only authorized TJEP service person
-
nel or TJEP distributors shall repair the tool and
must use parts or accessories that are supplied or
recommended by Kyocera Unimerco Fastening.
• Keep the tool in clean condition at all times. Wipe
off grease or oil with dry clean cloth to prevent
accidental drop of the tool.
• Use TJEP lubricator in the air plug (H) of the tool at
least twice a day (depending on frequency of use).
• Avoid any use of solvent base cleaner to clean the
tool, as certain solvent will damage or weaken the
composite parts of the tool.
• All screws and nuts should be kept tight and
undamaged. Loose screws may result hazard situ
-
ations and cause severe personal injury or parts
breakage.
• It is recommended to use a filter and regulator on
the compressor.
•
On a daily basis empty the compressor tanks for water.
• NEVER use a tool if there is any doubt.
Cold weather
• When operating the tool in temperatures near and
below freezing, the moisture in the air line may
freeze and prevent the tool from operating.
• Reduce the air pressure to 80 psi (5.5 bar) or less.
• Remove all fasteners from the magazine.
• Connect the compressor and blank-fire the tool, as
slow speed operation tends to warm up the moving
parts.
Storage
•
When not in use for an extended period, apply a
thin coat of lubricant to the steel parts to avoid rust.
Do not store the tool in a cold weather environment.
When not in use, the tool should be stored in a
warm and dry place. Keep out of children’s reach.
