OPERATING PRINCIPLE
The float switch consists of a free moving float on a shaft. When the float reaches the bottom
of the shaft it will activate a contact which will switch on the pump, allowing water to be
pumped into the aquarium or sump until the level is restored, moving the float up and, in
turn, shutting off the pump. With the V

Plus
System, the additional float switch
acts as a back-up, ensuring no malfunction occurs due to a stuck switch on the first float
switch.
GENERAL OPERATION
1. Determine your ideal water level within the
aquarium or sump.
2. Place the float switch in a suitable position
in the aquarium or sump so that the float is
at its maximum height on the shaft.
3. Ensure all connections are secure (see
“General Installation” above).
4. Check on a daily basis to ensure the sump
or freshwater container is not running low
on water and top up as required.
6. Maintain regularly for continued, reliable
operation.
7. When carrying out aquarium maintenance
or acclimating animals in the aquarium,
unplug the V
2
Auto Top Up System to
prevent any unwanted activation due to an
altered aquarium/sump water level.
8. Adjust the float switch position accordingly
after maintenance and reconnect power
again.
Please Note:
The larger the surface area of
the chamber or aquarium the float switch is
installed in, a higher volume will be evaporated
before the switch will be activated. Ideally place
in the return pump chamber of a sump.
