ENGINE REMOVAL
ENGINE REMOVAL
1.
Disconnect battery prior to working on the
electrical system. Turn power off at main
battery disconnect switch or remove the
negative battery cable from battery.
WARNING:
SHOCK HAZARD
2.
Loosen the 4 - 13mm nuts holding the
muffler assembly to the frame. Remove all
but one nut to hold the muffler in place
temporarily.
3.
The exhaust system is bolted to the bottom
of the cast iron exhaust manifold. Remove
the 2 – 10mm nuts from the studs on the
bottom of the exhaust manifold.
4.
Remove the 13mm nut and the exhaust
system can be removed from the left side of
the engine compartment. Remove exhaust
gasket from manifold.
5.
Remove the CVT drive belt. This can be done
by pulling the belt up and over the top of the
clutch plate on the transmission and rotating
the clutch in a counter clockwise direction. If
there is not enough slack to remove the belt,
it may be necessary to loosen the engine
mounting bolts at the engine tray so the
engine can be moved forward in the tray.
