Usage information
This product is designed to cut male and female threads and is only suitable for experienced technicians.
The product is equipped with a ratchet function.
a) Cutting a female thread

• Measure the external diameter of the screw that you wish to use.
• Determine the thread pitch using the thread gauge included with the product. The prongs on the thread
pitch must fit exactly into the screw thread.

• Choose the correct screw tap. The corresponding size information can be found on the thread gauge and
the screw taps.
• Insert the screw tap into one of the two tap holders. Fix the tap in place so that it cannot fall out of the
holder. Please note that one tap holder is designed for small screw taps and the other tap holder is
designed for large screw taps.
• Insert the tap holder into the tap wrench (ratchet).

• Countersink the drill hole before cutting.
• Set the direction of rotation on the handle to the right.
• Apply a small amount of cutting oil (metalworking fluid) to the screw tap.
• Start to cut the thread. Turn the handle in a clockwise direction.

• Place the handle in the left position. Turn the screw tap anticlockwise to remove iron filings and to remove
the screw tap from the workpiece.

• Clean the finished thread and insert the screw.
