8. Connection
Pay attention to the “Safety instructions” section.
Always switch off the 4-in1 rework station using the on/off switch (switch position “O”) first, before connect
-
ing or disconnecting the soldering iron, desoldering gun or soldering tweezers. Otherwise the 4-in-1 rework
station may become damaged.
Channel 1 and 2 of the 4-in-1 rework station are equivalent. This means that it is irrelevant which of these
two channels you use for the soldering iron, the desoldering gun or soldering tweezers.
As only two channels are available for the three devices (soldering iron, desoldering gun, soldering twee-
zers), you cannot use all three at the same time.
a) Desoldering gun
The desoldering gun requires both a connection to the voltage/power
supply for the 4-in-1 rework station as well as to the vacuum connection.
Connect the soldering gun plug with either Channel 1 (13) or Channel 2
(11). The image on the right shows connection to Channel 2.
Insert the correctly aligned plug into the socket, then it can be secured
using the locking ring. Do not use force!
The vacuum hose is connected to socket (2) using its plug. Push the
plug as far as it will go in the socket. The rubber ring on the plug then
ensures a seal.
Place the desoldering gun in the support holder provided.
b) Soldering tweezers
The soldering tweezers have two small soldering tips. For example, with
a small SMD resistor, both ends can be heated at the same time and
also removed from the board.
In the support holder for the desoldering gun, you will find an opening on
the back which is suitable for storing the soldering tweezers when taking
breaks; see image on the right.
Connect the soldering tweezers plug with either Channel 1 (13) or Chan-
nel 2 (11). Insert the correctly aligned plug into the socket, then it can be
secured using the locking ring. Do not use force!
