c) Persons and product
• Do not block any of the ventilation openings on the product. Clean the ventilation openings on a regular
basis. The motor fan draws dust into the housing; a significant accumulation of metal dust can cause
electrical hazards.
• Store the product out of the reach of children and untrained persons. The product is dangerous when
used by untrained persons.
• For installations in industrial facilities, follow the accident prevention regulations for electrical systems
and equipment issued by the national safety organisation or the corresponding national authority.
• In schools, educational facilities, computer and DIY workshops, the product must be used under the
supervision of qualified personnel.
d) Personal safety
• When using the multi-purpose tool, stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense. Do
not use the multi-purpose tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
Carelessness may result in serious personal injury.
• Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust
masks, non-slip safety shoes, helmets and hearing protection designed for the corresponding working
conditions reduce the risk of injury.
• Prevent the multi-purpose tool from starting unintentionally. Ensure the switch is in the off position before
connecting the device to the power supply, picking it up or moving it to another location. Carrying the
device with your finger on the switch or connecting it to the power supply when the switch is in the on
position can lead to accidents.
• Remove all tool attachments and wrenches before switching on the device. Tools or wrenches that are
located in a rotating part of the device can cause injuries. Leaving a wrench or tool attachment attached
to a rotating part of the device increases the risk of injury.
• Avoid abnormal posture. Maintain a safe footing and keep your balance at all times. This will give you
better control of the multi-purpose tool in unexpected scenarios. For example, do not lean too far for-
wards. Ensure that you keep a proper footing and maintain your balance at all times. This will give you
better control of the multi-purpose tool in unpredictable scenarios.
• Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves
away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair may become caught in moving parts.
• If devices are provided for connecting a dust extraction and collection system, ensure that these are
connected and used correctly. Using a dust collection system reduces the risk of dust-related hazards.
e) Safety in the work area
• Keep the work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark work areas increase the risk of accidents.
•
Do not operate multi-purpose tools in explosive environments, e.g. in areas which contain flammable
liquids, gases or dust. Multi-purpose tools create sparks which may ignite dust or fumes.
• When using a multi-purpose tool, keep children and other unauthorized persons away from your work
area. Distractions can cause you to lose control of the tool.
