Tighten the hex nuts on the front end of the spring
rod until the compressed length of the spring is 12.7
cm (5 inches) on Reelmaster 5410, 5 inch cutting units
or 15.9 cm (6.25 inches) on Reelmaster 5510, 7 inch
cutting units (Figure 15).
Note:
When operating on rough terrain decrease
the spring length by 12.7 mm (1/2 inch). Ground
following will be slightly decreased.

Cutting unit kickstand
Procedure
Whenever the cutting unit has to be tipped to expose the
bedknife/reel, prop up the rear of the cutting unit with the
kickstand to make sure the nuts on the back end of the
bedbar adjusting screws are not resting on the work surface
(Figure 16).
