Checking the
Interlock-Switch Operation
CAUTION
If the safety interlock switches are
disconnected or damaged, the machine could
operate unexpectedly causing personal injury.
•
Do not tamper with the interlock switches.
•
Check the operation of the interlock
switches daily and replace any damaged
switches before operating the machine.
1.
Push the kickstand down with your foot and pull
up and back on the handle to raise the wheels
off the ground.
2.
Place the traction lever into the E
NGAGE
position
and the engine controls in the starting position.
3.
Attempt to start the engine.
The engine should not start. If the engine starts,
the interlock switch needs service. Correct the
problem before operating the machine. Refer to
Servicing the Traction-Interlock Switch (page 30)
4.
Carefully lift up on the handle to release the
kickstand.
