The traction charge circuit is designed to replace loss of
hydraulic fluid from the closed loop traction circuit. The
charge relief valve pressure test will identify if charge
pressure is correct.
Procedure for Charge Relief Valve Pressure Test:
1. Make sure hydraulic oil is at normal operating tem-
perature by operating the machine for approximately ten
(10) minutes.
2. Park machine on a level surface with the cutting units
lowered. Make sure engine is off and the parking brake
is engaged. Make sure the hydraulic tank is full.
CAUTION
Prevent personal injury and/or damage to equip-
ment. Read all WARNINGS, CAUTIONS and Pre-
cautions for Hydraulic Testing at the beginning
of this section.
3. Thoroughly clean junction of hydraulic hose and hy-
draulic tube that runs under piston (traction) pump (Figs.
20 or 21). Disconnect hydraulic hose from the hydraulic
tube.
4. Install a tee fitting between the disconnected hose
and tube. Install a 1000 PSI (70 bar) pressure gauge to
the tee fitting.
5. Make sure that traction pedal, steering wheel and
joystick are in the neutral position.
6. Start engine and run at low idle speed. Check for hy-
draulic leakage at pressure gauge and correct before
proceeding with test.
7. Move throttle so engine is running at high idle speed.
8. Pressure gauge should read approximately
110 to
150 PSI (7.6 to 10.3 bar)

9. Shut off engine. Record test results.
