CHANGING THE ENGINE OIL AND
FILTER (Fig. 32–33)
Change the oil and filter initially after the first 8 hours of
operation; thereafter change the oil every 100 hours and
filter every 200 hours.
Note:
Change the oil and filter every 25 hours when
operating under heavy load or high ambient
temperatures.

Remove the drain plug and oil fill cap and let oil
flow into drain pan. When the oil stops, install the
drain plug.

Remove the oil filter. Apply a light coat of clean oil
to the new filter gasket.

Screw the filter on by hand until the gasket contacts
the filter adapter, then tighten

turn further.
DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN.

Add oil to the crankcase; refer to CHECK THE
ENGINE OIL.
5.
Start the engine and check for leaks around the
filter.
6.
Dispose of the oil properly.
SERVICING THE AIR CLEANER
(Fig. 34)
Clean the air filter cartridge after every 25 operating
hours. Service it more often (every few hours) if
operating conditions are extremely dusty or sandy.
Replace the cartridge after every 100 operating hours, or
yearly.

Unlock the clamps and remove the air cleaner
cover.
2.
Remove the cartridge from the air cleaner body.
Before servicing or making adjustments to the
machine, stop the engine and remove the key from the
switch.
