5. Torque the handle bolts to 120 to 160 in-lb (14 to

3. Installing the Starter Rope
Procedure
Pull the starter rope through the rope guide on the
handle (Figure 6).

Note:
To make the rope easier to install, squeeze the
control bar on the handle.
4. Filling the Engine with Oil
Procedure
Your mower does not come with oil in the engine.
1. Remove the dipstick (Figure 7).

Slowly
pour oil into the oil fill tube until the oil level
reaches the Full line on the dipstick (Figure 7).
Do
not overfill.
(Max. fill: 20 oz. (0.59 l), type: SAE
30W detergent oil with an API service classification
of SF, SG, SH, SJ, SL, or higher.)
3. Install the dipstick securely.
Important:
Change the engine oil after the first
5 operating hours
; change it yearly thereafter.
