Fuel Filter
Service Interval/Specification
Replace the fuel filter after every 100 operating hours
or yearly, whichever occurs first.
Replacing the Fuel Filter
The best time to replace the fuel filter (Fig. 24) is
when the fuel tank is empty. Never install a dirty
filter if it is removed from the fuel line.
1.
Disengage the blade control (PTO), shift into
neutral, set the parking brake, and turn the
ignition key to “OFF” to stop the engine.
2.
Open the hood.
3.
Squeeze the ends of the hose clamps together
and slide them away from the filter (Fig. 24).
4.
Remove the filter from the fuel lines.
5.
Install a new filter and move the hose clamps
close to the filter.
6.
Close the hood.
Air Cleaner
Service Interval/Specification
Foam Element: Clean and re-oil after every 25
operating hours.
Paper Element: Replace after every 100 operating
hours or yearly, whichever occurs first.
Note:
Service the air cleaner more frequently
(every few hours) if operating
conditions are extremely dusty or
sandy.
Removing the Foam and Paper Elements
1.
Disengage the blade control (PTO), shift into
neutral, set the parking brake, and turn the
ignition key to “OFF” to stop the engine.
2.
Open the hood.
3.
Clean around the air cleaner to prevent dirt from
getting into the engine and causing damage.
Unscrew the knob and remove the air cleaner
cover (Fig. 25).

Carefully slide the foam element off the paper
element (Fig. 26).
