To unfold the handle, reverse the steps above.
Removing the Machine from
Storage
1.
Remove the spark plug and spin the engine rapidly
using the starter to blow the excess oil from the
cylinder.
2.
Install the spark plug and tighten it with a torque
wrench to 20 N-m (15 ft-lb).
3.
Connect the wire to the spark plug.
4.
Test the machine safety system; refer to Testing the
Machine Safety System.
Testing the Machine Safety
System
1.
Move the machine to a level surface.
2.
Stop the engine and wait for all moving parts to stop.
3.
If the grass bag is not attached to the machine, remove
the discharge plug and install the grass bag.
4.
Start the engine.
5.
While the engine is running, lift up the upper right rear
corner of the grass bag until the wire-bag frame at the
upper right front of the grass bag is completely out of
the right-hand slot (Figure 40).
The engine should
stop.
Note:
The right-hand slot houses a safety interlock
switch.
Important:
Do not step outside the operating
position while performing this step.

If the engine does not stop when you perform this
test, release the control bar on the handle to stop the
engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, and take your
machine to an Authorized Toro Dealer to have the
safety system properly repaired.
