Starting the Engine
Note:
This machine does not have a manual choke.
This machine is equipped with an direct fuel injection
(DFI) system.
1. Raise the ROPS up and lock into place, sit on the
seat and fasten the seat belt.
2. Move the motion controls to neutral locked
position.
3. Set the parking brake; refer to Setting the Parking
Brake.
4. Move the PTO (power take off) switch to the Off
position (Figure 11).

5. Move the throttle control midway between the Slow
and Fast positions (Figure 12).

6. Turn the ignition key to the Start position
(Figure 13). When the engines starts, release the key.
Important:
Do not engage starter for more
than 5 seconds at a time. If the engine fails
to start allow a 15 second cool-down period
between attempts. Failure to follow these
instructions can burn out the starter motor.
Note:
Additional starting cycles may be required
when starting the engine for the first time after the
fuel system has been without fuel completely.

Stopping the Engine
1. Push the PTO to the Off position (Figure 11).
2. Move the throttle lever midway between the Slow
and Fast positions (Figure 12).
3. Let the engine idle for 60 seconds.
4. Turn the ignition key to the Off position and
remove the key (Figure 13).
5. Close the fuel shut off valve before transporting
or storing the machine. Refer to Fuel System
Maintenance , page 36.
