Contact with hot surfaces may cause personal
injury.
Keep hands, feet, face, clothing and other body
parts away the muffler and other hot surfaces.
Servicing the Air Cleaner

Check the filters more frequently if operating
conditions are extremely dusty or sandy.
Removing the Air Filter
Service Interval:
Every 250 hours (more often in dirty
or dusty conditions)
1. Disengage the PTO, move the motion control levers
to the neutral locked position and set the parking
brake.
2. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all
moving parts to stop before leaving the operating
position.
3. Release the seat and tip it forward.
4. Raise the radiator cover.
5. Release the latches on the air cleaner and pull the air
cleaner cover off of the air cleaner body (Figure 36).
6. Clean the inside of the air cleaner cover with
compressed air.
7. Gently slide the filter out of the air cleaner body
(Figure 36). Avoid knocking the filter into the side
of the body.
8. Inspect the filter for damage by looking into the
filter while shining a bright light on the outside of
the filter. Holes in the filter will appear as bright
