Start-up
In order to position the motor optimally relative to the water surface, several steps
are required:
1. Use the tilt switch to tilt the motor upwards hydraulically,
.
2. Remove the securing cotter pin (1) of the trim rod (3), and pull the trim rod (3)
out of the transom bracket.
3. Select the desired trimming position.
4. Insert the adjusting rod (3) into the corresponding trimming position (2) of the
transom bracket.
The trim rod (3) must be pushed through both side walls of the transom
bracket.
5. Fix the trim rod (3) using the securing cotter pin (1).
6. Hydraulically tilt the motor downwards using the tilt switch until contact is made
with the trim rod (3).
5.5 Choice of batteries
For reasons of efficiency and user-friendliness, Torqeedo recommends the use of
Power 48 5000 lithium batteries. In principle, the Cruise models can also be operated
using lead/acid, lead gel, AGM, or lithium-based batteries.
WARNING!
Danger of injury from batteries which are unmatched.
This can result in severe physical injuries or death.
■
Connect only identical batteries (manufacturer, capacity and age).
■
Connect batteries only if they have an identical state of charge.
WARNING!
Danger of injury from short circuit.
This can result in severe physical injuries or death.
■
Remove metal jewellery before you start work on batteries or in their vicinity.
■
Always put down tools and metal objects without making contact with the
battery.
■
When connecting the battery, ensure correct polarity and tight fit of the con-
nections.
■
Battery terminals must be clean and free of corrosion.
■
Do not store batteries hazardously in a box or drawer, e.g. an insufficiently
ventilated locker.
CAUTION!
Damage to the battery or other electrical loads from a short circuit.
Material damage can result.
■
When working on the batteries, always switch the system off at the main
switch.
■
If you are using a Torqeedo Power 48 5000, then this must also be switched
off.
■
When connecting the batteries, ensure that you first connect the red positive
cable followed by the black negative cable.
■
When disconnecting the batteries, ensure that you first disconnect the black
negative cable followed by the red positive cable.
■
Never transpose the polarities.
ADVICE
Do not lead the cables over sharp edges, and cover all open terminal caps.
