9.5 Replacing the galvanic anodes
CAUTION!
Danger of crushing if motor tips down in uncontrolled manner.
Slight or moderately severe physical injuries may result.

Always use the tilt lock when tilting the motor.
The galvanic anodes are wear parts which must be checked and replaced regularly.
They protect the motor from corrosion. It is not necessary to remove the propeller to
replace them. In total, five galvanic anodes require replacement. The anodes must be
replaced as complete sets.

1. Loosen bolts (2), and remove the half ring anodes (1) consisting of two half
shells.
2. Insert new half ring anodes, and screw tight.
3. Replace old shaft anode with a new anode, using an open-end size 32 spanner.
