Pressing the power button turns the computer on and off. For more
information, see
“Connecting to a power source” on page 48
.
Pressing the reset button restarts the computer when it is not
responding to the keyboard. This overrides the Standby command.
Use this button only if all other attempts at restarting the computer
failed.
CAUTION: Never use a pencil to press the reset button.
Pencil lead can break off inside the computer and damage its
circuitry. Instead, use a slim object such as a straightened
paper clip.
The cooling vents provide air flow for the fan.
Attaching a special cable to the antitheft security lock slot lets you
anchor your computer to a large, heavy object, such as your desk.
The PC Card slot can hold two Type II PC Cards or one Type III
PC Card. For more information, see
