External USB diskette drive
Use the parallel port to connect a parallel printer or other parallel
device.
Use the monitor port to connect an external monitor. For more
information, see
“Using an external monitor” on page 120
You can use the DC IN jack on the LAN Port Replicator instead of
the DC IN jack on the computer. Slide the DC IN jack panel to
access the appropriate jack for your AC adapter.
Reverse side of the LAN Port Replicator
You can connect to a network using the built-in Ethernet module
and the network (RJ45) jack.
The Universal Serial Bus (USB) port provides a connection for the
external USB diskette drive and other USB peripherals, such as a
mouse or keyboard.
You can connect a PS/2-compatible keyboard or mouse to the
PS/2 port. Alternatively, you can attach an optional Y-cable to
connect both a PS/2 compatible keyboard and a PS/2 mouse
simultaneously.
The line out jack allows you to send stereo sound from the
computer’s sound system to an external audio device.

External USB diskette drive
The external USB diskette drive is useful for installing software on
the hard disk, exchanging information with other systems, and
making backup copies of the files stored on your hard disk.
