You now have a safe copy of the two start up files in the directory
\cd-safe
. If you
need to return your operating system to its state before you started loading the drivers,
copy these two files back to the root level directory by typing at the DOS prompt:
c:
cd \
copy \cd-safe
Loading the Drivers
Put the floppy disk in drive a: and type
a:
(if your 3.5 inch floppy drive has a different
letter, for example drive B, type that letter followed by a colon) and press [Enter].
Type
ATAPI
and press [Enter]. The driver installation program now asks a number of
questions and guides you through the installation process.
When the installation is finished you will need to restart your computer for the drivers to
be loaded into memory.
Windows 95
Your Toshiba CD-ROM drive does not need any special drivers for Windows 95. As a
“plug and play” operating system, Windows 95 is complete with drivers to support all
popular peripherals, including ATAPI CD-ROM drives.
Some older computers may be unable to support all “plug and play” features of Windows
95. On these systems, Windows 95 allows the use of conventional DOS drivers as
supplied with the this drive and described above, under the heading DOS and Windows
3.x.
