5.1 Cleaning

1. Turn the power off.
2. Rotate the platen roller and wipe it
thoroughly with 100% ethanol and a
cotton swab, or lint-free cloth.
Clean the platen roller when changing a new
label roll.

Use the lint-free cloth with 100% ethanol
to wipe it.

NOTES:
Do not touch printer head by hand. If you touch it careless, please use ethanol to clean it.
Please use 100% Ethanol. DO NOT use medical alcohol, which may damage the printer head.
Regularly clean the print head and supply sensors once change a new ribbon to keep printer performance
and extend printer life.
Continuous printing will cause printer motor overheat. Printer will stop printing automatically about 10~15
minutes until motor is cooling down. Please don't turn off power when printer pauses or the data
transferred to printer buffer will be lost.
The maximum printing ratio per dot line is 15% for this printer. To print the full web black line, the
maximum black line height is limited to 40 dots, which is 5mm for 203 DPI resolution printer and 3.3mm
for 300 DPI resolution printer.
5.2 Cleaning of the Optional Cutter Module
WARNING!
Be sure to turn off the power before cleaning the Cutter.
The following cutter modules are the optional cutters.
B-FV204T-F-QM-R: Full Cutter Module for the B-FV4T-GS/TS
B-FV204T-P-QM-R: Partial Cutter Module for the B-FV4T-GS/TS
B-FV204D-F-QM-R: Full Cutter Module for the B-FV4D-GS/TS
B-FV204D-P-QM-R: Partial Cutter Module for the B-FV4D-GS/TS
If paper jamming frequently occurs in the Cutter module, clean it by following the procedure below.
NOTE:
Be sure to cut only the backing paper of the label. Cutting labels will cause glue to stick to the cutter
blades which may affect the cutter quality and shorten the cutter life.
Basically it is not necessary to clean the Cutter Blades. Cleaning using an item whose tip is hard may
cause chipping or using a cloth soaked with alcohol, water or other liquid may cause rust.
1. Turn the power off.
2. Open the Top Cover.
