7. Take off the shaft in the direction indicated by the arrow and then take off the lock release portion and
remove the spring at the left side of the printer.
8. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the 1 screw and then release the 2 latches to take off the feed
gap sensor (upper).
9. Replace the feed gap sensor (upper) with a new one and then reassemble it in the reverse order of
removal.

NOTE:
Steps 10 and 11 for adjusting the media sensor are unnecessary for B-FV4D-GL because its
sensor is used only to detect the paper-end condition.
10. After replacement, perform the media sensor.
By using the button of the printer or the B-FV4 Setting Tool, perform the media sensor calibration.
Regarding the media sensor calibration, refer to “6.1 Feed Gap Sensor / Black Mark Sensor
Adjustments” or “7.2 Working with B-FV Setting Tool”.
11. Also, make sure the media sensor is performing correctly for the following points.
When the PC connected to the printer sends sample data to the printer, printing is performed
correctly.
When the [FEED] button is pressed during the unloading of a media, LED 1 lights in orange and
LED 2 lights in red.
