Local Configuration Tool

Local Configuration Tool

If the HEW Agent function is installed, the Local Configuration Tool can configure an
Agent regardless of the availability of the Manager or Management Proxy function or the
LAN environment.

Starting the tool

If the HEW Agent function is installed in the C:\HEW folder, then the Local Configuration
Tool (HewConf.exe) is located in C:\HEW\Agent. Activate this file to start the Local
Configuration Tool.

The Local Configuration Tool does not normally work if it is activated immediately after
the HEW Agent function is installed (if the system has never been rebooted after HEW
Agent installation). Before activating the Local Configuration Tool, please make sure that
the system has been rebooted.

If you want to use this tool on the machine without the HEW Agent function, you need to
copy “HewConf” directory from the \Public\Utils\Toshiba\HEYE directory on the Server
Setup Tool installation CD to a directory you want to copy. Activate this file to start the
Local Configuration Tool.

Using the tool

The Local Configuration Tool includes the following screens. The available functions
changes with the model of the machine which started this tool.

When the Local Configuration Tool starts, it displays the Buzzer Control screen.

Panel View 1

You can edit the panel strings that indicate information particular to
the Agent machine.

Upper

Saves the specified character strings.

Panel View 2

Displays the Alert Message from the Agent.

Initialize

Initializes the characters back to the default provided when this
software was shipped.
