In all of these cases, the called station will be informed of the waiting
message through stutter dial tone, a Message Waiting light indication, a
Message Waiting access key LED indication, and/or Message Waiting
displays.
If you have a PERCEPTION 4000 HDT2010S digital telephone and a
message is registered at your station, you can access the message by
simply pressing the Message Waiting key. This will automatically call
back the station that left the message. If the message resides in a voice
mailbox, you will be automatically routed to the voice mail system when
you press the Message Waiting key. Once inside the voice mail system,
you can access the message by following voice mail operational
procedures.
If you have a PERCEPTION 4000 HDT2020SD digital telephone, you
can view each of your registered messages prior to calling back a
station. This will allow you to select which calls you want to call back and
which you want to cancel. When you press the Message Waiting access
key or soft key to access your messages, soft key labels appear to guide
you through your options. Your HDT2020SD digital telephone will display
the identity of each party who left a message, the number of times that
each message was left at your telephone, the date that each message
was left, and any predefined text messages that have been left at your
station. It will also indicate if a registered message is a voice mail
message. When instructing your telephone to return a call, either the
calling party or the voice mail system will be called, depending on the
type of message left. If a message resides in a voice mailbox, you can
access the message by following voice mail operational procedures.
PERCEPTION 4000 HDT2010S digital telephones may receive one
callback message and one voice mail message indication.
PERCEPTION 4000 HDT2020SD digital telephones may receive up to
four callback messages and one voice mail message indication. For both
telephone types, a voice mail message indication can represent any
number of messages that have been left in your station’s voice mailbox.
Operational procedures for Message Waiting are categorized into
