Inserting the dummy card
Memory expansion
You can install additional memory in the computer’s memory module to
increase the amount of RAM. You can use only memory modules
supported by the computer.
Installing memory module
To install a memory module, first make sure that the computer is in boot mode.
If you install memory while the computer is in
Hibernation
or
Resume
(Standby/Suspend) mode, the computer will not recognise the additional
memory when you turn the computer back on.
1.
Turn the computer off.
Do not try to install a memory module with the computer turned on. You
can damage the computer and the module.
2.
Remove all cables connected to the computer.
3.
Turn the computer upside down and remove the battery pack as
described in Chapter 6,
Power and Power-Up Modes
.
4.
Remove the two screws securing the memory module socket cover.
