Receive and Answer Calls
Answering a Call
When an incoming call rings into the SoftIPT, the ringing is heard over the back speakers of the MC70 to
alert the user.
•
Press the Green Off-Hook key on the MC70 or tap the ringing PDN on the SoftIPT to answer the call.
Making a Call
1.
Press the Green key on the MC70, the SoftIPT will go Off-Hook (similar to picking up the handset on
an IP telephone). The user will hear dial-tone on the front earpiece of the MC70.
2.
For Internal Users – Dial the extension of the party you wish to call.
3.
For External Phone Numbers – Press “9” then, either the 7 digits or +1 and the 10 digit phone number.
Making a Speakerphone Call
1.
Using the stylus, tap the “Speaker key” icon on the SoftIPT GUI.
Dial-tone is heard through the back speaker of the MC70.
2.
For Internal Users – Dial the extension of the party you wish to call.
3.
For External Phone Numbers – Press “9” then, either the 7 digits or +1 and the 10 digit phone number.
Ending a Phone Call
•
Press the
RED Off-Hook
button on the MC70 keypad.
The RED “Off-Hook” button always terminates a call regardless of how the call was originally initiated.
Hold
Placing a call on Hold
1.
While on a call, tap the Up Arrow button just below the digits.
2.
Tap the Red Hold icon and the call is placed on hold.
3.
Tap again to put the call on exclusive hold.
4.
To take the call out of Hold, tap the PDN button next to the green LED.
Transfer a Call
1.
While on a call, tap the Up Arrow button on the SoftIPT GUI just below the numeric digits.
2.
Tap the Transfer button (icon with people).
3.
Enter the destination digits and the called party begins ringing.
•
For Blind-transfer, simply hang-up by pressing the RED On-hook button.
•
For Supervised Transfer wait for the called party to pickup, announce the call and hang-up by
pressing the RED On-hook button.
