SNMP service to prevent connection problems between WinAdmin and WinCIX. After stopping
SNMP service(s), click OK to continue.

3. Select a Region Code:

Click the down arrow and
highlight a country. The
Region Code is the same as
country list in Program
915-04.

4. Select the Access Folder:

This is where the
“default.dat” file will be
stored. The empty default
folder is
“C:/WINCIX/SM/”.

If you want to use a
different folder that
contains a default.dat file
or create a new
“default.dat” file, click Browse. The Searching Access Folder window displays. Select a folder, then
click Set.

To edit an existing “default.dat” file, select the folder that contains the “default.dat” file which should
be edited.

CAUTION!

Always make a copy of original default.dat files before you open and edit them using
WinCIX. In an emergency situation you may need the original default.dat file to
restore your original data to the CIX system.

5. Click the Start button. The window shown right

appears.

If a “default.dat”file exists in the selected folder,
the window (shown right) displays:

ä

Click Yes to load the “default.dat” file into
WinCIX. WinCIX shows “Restoring,” as it loads
the existing default.dat.

If a “default.dat” file is not in the selected folder,
the “Load default.dat?” screen does

not

 appear and

WinCIX immediately displays the “WinCIX is running” screen. You can still connect to WinCIX to
create a new default.dat file in the selected folder by continuing with the following steps.

6. With WinCIX running, log on to eManager.

Enter CIX IP/Name (IP address): 127.0.0.1 or your local PC’s IP address.

Enter a Community Name (CIX default is “communityName”).

Shows the type
of CIX database
supported.
